Caryn is studying for an MA Art & Space at Kingston
University. She is interested in the transformation of narrative.
She is currently exploring the commonalities between process and
craft. Work may be gallery based but also aspires to reach beyond
the limits of this through the use
of social media, public media (radio, magazines, newspapers etc). She also gets involved with local
interventions within schools, community groups etc.
Caryn is qualified to teach adults
and work with adolescents. She hasworked as an artist in childrens homes,
schools, nurseries etc withchildren of all ages. She has spent a long part
of her career very successfully developing and running
arts and health projects for youngpeople as well as teaching adults either
individually or in groups. Sheenjoys the challenge of encouraging people who
would otherwise considerthemselves to be uncreative to discover new
ways of expressingthemselves and building confidence through
Her studio ison her houseboat on the River Thames in West
London. She has had wellreceived solo shows in Yorkshire, Norfolk,
Surrey and various parts ofLondon.
Caryn thrives on the variety and
challenge of working with others andbelieves strongly in the power of artistic
expression as a tool forpersonal and political change.
